Obstacles (Sundays) - March 2026

- Maneuver full-size dogwalk with successful stopped contact, even with proofing.
- Dog can run over A-Frame with successful contacts.
- Dog can drive through open 2×2 weave poles from different approaches.
- Dog is introduced to the teeter at low level with successful stopped contact.
- Exposed to tire jump and broad jump.
Handler Skills:
- Front cross
- Understanding of rear cross and ability to perform it on the flat
- Start line stay executed at least one obstacle away.
- Ability to sequence 4-6 obstacles successfully.
Weaves and Teeter (Tuesdays) - March 2026

Prerequisite:
- Obstacles 2 or permission after agreement with Board President.
Skills learned:
- Handling is about the communication between the handler and the dog, and this class focuses on the skills needed by the handler to “tell” the dog what to do on the course.
- Learn about the handling elements (movement, position, eyes, etc.) and how they impact the dog's performance.
- Learn about the dog's path/line.
- Learn various crosses (changing the dog to your other side).
- Increase the dog’s confidence and drive.

Advanced Course Work (Thursdays) - March 2026

Prerequisite:
- Coursework, or permission after agreement with Board President.
- Dog can consistently perform contact obstacles.
- Dog has good understanding of the weaves (should be pretty independent).
Skills learned:
- This session will use advanced level courses with emphasis placed on correctly navigating the course, not necessarily just making it through the course.
- Students will walk the set course and determine a handling plan, including alternate options in case something goes wrong.
- Sequencing several obstacles successfully while incorporating the appropriate handling techniques.
Dog skills:
- Execute the obstacles based on Handler's cues.

Course Work (Mondays) - March 2026

Prerequisite:
- Obstacles 2 and Handling 2, or permission after agreement with Board President.
- Dog can consistently perform contact obstacles.
- Dog has basic understanding of the weaves (it's okay if handler encouragement is still needed).
Skills learned:
- This session will use entry level courses.
- Students will learn how to review a course map to determine a preliminary handling plan.
- Students will learn how to walk a course and solidify their handling plan, including an alternate in case something goes wrong.
- Successful side changes in motion.
- Sequencing several obstacles successfully while incorporating the appropriate handling techniques.
- Emphasis will be placed on the dog’s path.
Dog skills:
- Execute the obstacles based on Handler's cues.
